The Story of
Mercy Ministries Foundation
Under the Mercy Ministries Foundation (MMF), all five of our Christian Happy Homes and the MMF School, are centered around teaching the kids to love God and rely on His word.
We take seriously our mandate to raise our kids and provide for them in our Christian Happy Homes to know and love God. At our MMF school, we focus learning on the Bible and faithfulness of God.
As staff, we pray and we do our best. In our heart of hearts, as staff and as leaders, our goal is to guide the children under our care with a loving atmosphere. We focus on building their lives through education, life skills and social and emotional preparation. Our main goal is to build them up spiritually, to know God through His Son Jesus Christ, that they would love the Lord and follow Him.
Rose has recorded a video with a brief history of Christian Happy Homes - now Mercy Ministry Foundation - and the vision for the future (which is true to the original vision God gave Rose in 1983!)
MMF’s Leadership Transition.
This great time of transition was celebrated on December 30th, 2023 with many alumni from the over 40 years of Christian Happy Homes, donors from around the world, staff from the five homes, friends of the ministry from the South East region and lots of kids!
Watch this brand new video with Rose giving a brief history of Christian Happy Homes and the formation of Mercy Ministries Foundation.
History of Mercy Ministries Foundation (MMF)
Rose shares her humble beginnings, arriving in Thailand with only a box of books, a suitcase of clothes, and a powerful calling. She reveals how this calling led to the inception of "Christian Happy Home," which later evolved into the "Mercy Ministries Foundation."
From Christian Happy Homes to Mercy Ministries Foundation.
Along with the call from God to care for children who were orphaned, abandoned or at risk came a vision for the Christian Happy Homes as a safe and Christ-filled loving homes. In 1998 the Happy Homes continued to grow into western Cambodia and southern Thailand. Mercy Ministries Foundation (MMF) was formed as an umbrella ministry to cover Christian Happy Homes and the school in the slums of Poipet, Cambodia .
As the other areas of the ministry began to develop, they were encompassed in the overall foundation to encompass every part of the ministry.

“Raising Kids, Building Lives, Following Christ”
Discipleship and sharing the gospel is our primary purpose for having these homes!
We take seriously our mandate to raise our kids and provide for them, in a loving family atmosphere, building their lives with education, life skills and social and emotional preparation. Our goal is to guide them spiritually, to know God through His Son Jesus Christ, that they would love Him as Lord and follow Him.
We encourage the kids to attend the youth gatherings, serving in their local churches and doing outreaches to lost tribal villages, the poor and the needy. There are so many amazing stories and testimonies from the lives of these beautiful children.
The Vision of the MMF School.
MMF School looks to provide quality basic education for children and to teach the community the value of education.
The MMF preschool was launched in 2003 in a Poipet slum with a rented location. The MMF School now has 280 students and we have officially changed from a Preschool to a primary school going up to the 4th grade. We are praying and hoping to go up to another grade next year.
The school and classrooms are very contextualized, fitting right into the area of traditional construction materials and having a large play area. We have a wonderful relationship with the community as we also look to encourage the parents to the value of education. For example, every few months we give out awards, like a backpack full of school stuff, and invite their parents to share a proud moment with their child! The Christian female teachers are all residents of the area and have a wonderful heart for teaching the children!. Officially we are now called MMF School with the mission statement, given by the teachers themselves!
